Possibly purchasing wrx need help :/

I own a 2012 Acura TL Sh-Awd with tech package right now with auto tranny (hate auto) ... The thing is a rocket and is so luxurious... I'm 24 and am starting a family, and it just makes sense ... But I still have a little kid in me and have ALWAYS loved the WRX (sound, power, unlimited tuning and mods!) ... My wife is ok with it since its AWD and 4 doors, but she loves the tl for the luxury aspect, the wrx is just too blah to her... And she is skeptical of turbo cars ( had an mk6 GTI and it was a hugeeeee money pit) ... So I need help/persuasion from my luxurious 305 hp, awd, vtech rocket ship orrrrrr the 2010 wrx premium I have my sites on ... Throw me some input please!

Honda is better at building cars than you or I or anyone is at modifying them. The reason is that they're the best engine designer in the world and neither you nor I are even a close second.

If you consider an Acura TL a "Vtech Rocket Ship" idk if a WRX is the right choice for you. The reliability of a Subaru is ALMOST directly related to its previous owners, so if you have a car with a good maintenance record, the 2010 would be plenty reliable. The looks, however, of a 2010 WRX Vs. a 2012 Acura TL are entirely lacking and I feel like you'd end up disappointed. I'd have to go with an 06-07 or 11+ if I was going to consider a WRX a "good looking" car.

The sh-awd is the current biggest vtech (as in latest) on the market ... Why I express "rocket ship" and a big one at that lol ... I like the looks of the 2010 ... I just want something that is quick but still "family friendly"... I deff know what you mean about vehicle history!!

Ahh ok, thanks for the info. WRX's definitely can be family friendly. They can be at autocross one day and at the grocery store the next.

Power wise ... What's going to be my best bet? Not much to do with the tl but sits stock at just over 300hp ... Wrx has upgrades galore... Just don't wanna downgrade in power... Willing to invest in the wrx.

    sorry, i had to. :P

welcome to the forum. like previously said, you really have to worry about previous history & maintenance. it might take a while to find the perfect used subaru, but it's worth the wait.

If your current car has 300hp and that's your goal for your wrx I'd pass and stay where you are. Adding that's roughly 15% more power than the wrx stock.

You know w'ere an honest bunch when we recommend keeping what ya got. Honestly the only thing I would trade your car for is a new STI, mayyybe WRX but not a "used" WRX. I'm an Acura fan though and yours is a beauty.
