Not that he gives a rat's ass whatsoever.
    2010 is still the 4.6

Is it really slow, or is it a seat-of-the pants thing, since it's NA?

Maybe, IDK. It feels very slow.

Isn't that V8 rated at 300hp, or am I confusing models?

    300hp until 2008, 315hp until 2010 IIRC. But at 3650lbs, much heavier than a 3080lb bugeye.

If you go by Cobb's map notes, a 285hp stage 2 bugeye is 10.8 lbs/hp. The 315hp Mustang GT is 11.5 lbs/hp. Granted, there are more drive-train losses from AWD, but you get my point.

I guess it is substantially heavier. Makes sense. Still, probably more area under the curve with the V8. But not as fun to drive, I'm sure.

06 mustang not the same as 12 mustang... He is asking a legitimate question and isn't being rude at all. Sucks that you had to be the first reply with misinformation and an attitude.

That's from 4 months ago, and the thread's been relatively friendly. Let's keep it that way.

I know this is an old thread, but I went from a 2006 Mustang GT to a 2012 WRX. Contrary to popular belief, I think the mustang was real close to the wrx in terms of straight line acceleration. Mine had a JLT Cold Air intake with a 93 Octane tune. While many people claimed the tune was a "night and day difference" all I found that the tune did was improve throttle response. Sure, it may have made the car a couple of tenths quicker in the quarter mile, but there was none of this "ZOMG, the car is so much faster" EXCEPT for the drive by wire reacting quicker.

The thing I didn't like about the mustang is the weak points to keep it at the price point it is at. Louisiana roads are borderline worse than 3rd world countries, and that live axle just caused me all kinds of problems with rear end induced bump steer. I owned my 2006 for less than 40,000 miles between 2007 and 2012, and I was on my third set of front strut mounts, second set of rear lower control arms, and the front ball joints were about shot when I traded the car in.

While the WRX offers a better ride and practicality, I am kind of missing not owning a coupe. Depending on how things pan out over the next 6 months, I may be in the market for another vehicle that is totally in a different price range than a WRX or STi.
