^ even our sti six speed sandwiches two gears between our 1 and 3... honestly I like always being in the right gear (not always possible with our 5mt box) but when it comes to shifting through traffic I find the 5 speed much nicer.

When do you need better accel between 100 and 130? .. who gets to do those speeds legally?? ... Hrmff.. I'm livin in the wrong part of the world I guess.

Anyone notice that the mini clubman is not so mini? Dawn and I parked next to one in my car the other night and its easily as large if not larger than my '10 wrx hatch.

mini my foot.. and its underpowered just like the VW's are.

My G35c broke me of the "OMG6SPEEDSMUSTBEW3SOME!" spell. Nothing against them, but not on my sports car/sedan "must have" list.

I'd probably be fine with a 4spd honestly.

I dont see what he is complaining about. I own a 02 WRX I love it and I wouldn't mind taking the new 2012 or any other year Subaru off his hands. You don't buy an STI/WRX for its luxury interior you buy it for the amazing adventurous fun experiences you will have driving an awesome car that is good to go stock right out of the box. And there is always room for improvement. I feel if he actually took his new Subaru to a dirt road or in the snow he would completely forget about all the BS he thinks Subaru screwed up on production of the car.

In fairness, we all have different backgrounds that color our expectations of a car. To me, the newer models have glorious interiors, because I'm used to my 2002, which has controls by Fisher-Price. (I know that we disagree on this, Zach. )

It doesn't really matter, though. I actually like the lack of sound deadening..I can hear the Walbro pump prime, the turbocharger spool up, and the snarl of the Flat-4. I like the harsh ride. The sound system was made adequate with a little...(okay, maybe more than a little) money, and I have a car that stands out when it's in a lot full of MS3GTI's.

There has been an explosion of stockish bugeyes in my area lately. I saw 4 bugeyes when I went for lunch just this afternoon.

yeah I am used to my 02 interior and I can say I didnt buy the bugeye because of how it looks and operates on the inside i bought it for the motor and the fun it is to drive. I see the newer models as luxury interiors because im used to my 02 and everytime i get in my friends 09+ models I go insane and really like how they are inside and more roomy too.

Holy Crap!! I never thought I'd see so many fanboys get so riled up.
Listen guys & gals, my first post was just observations, with very little complaining. I understand making negative comments on car forums is like calling your mother ugly. I get it.

    1. I sold my GTI because of its expensive maintenance, & the Mini was not an option. It doesn't mean I can't compare the three.
    2. I expect the WRX to be a great car & be reliable.
    3. If consumers didn't expect improvements we would all be driving Pinto's.

Observations after 6 months of 2012 WRX Premium

We aren't fanboys at all. We regularly admit the faults of this car.

You just don't seem to like a single thing about it. I'm just wondering why someone who dislikes their car so much wants to stay in it.

From your "observations" (which are actually just opinions) you really ought to be driving the Mini you so desperately love. Why is it not an option anymore?
