An automatic certainly has it's place. It's just not inside of my car.

Drag cars are confused. It says so right in the name. They dress like race cars, but can't turn...

The Leaf doesn't have a CVT. The engine goes directly to the diff, no clutch or anything.

On the CVT note though, I find it more than a bit ironic that I can shift my 5-speed more smoothly and quietly than my wife's CVT Insight does. It wails up to 6k rpm on hills and there's not much you can do about it. Off the line torque? Fuhgedabodit...

Ralliart sucks. Wrx has way more power, looks better, sounds like a boss. Wrx FTW.

You really don't know your stuff. The 2009+ WRX puts down approx. 215-220 whp. The modern Ralliart puts down 210-215 whp. The difference in CHP may be due to different dyno standards or less drivetrain loss. Plus the Ralliart has a much more advanced AWD system compared to the WRX. The disadvantages of the Ralliart when compared to WRX come in the form of an Auto (blah for me, yay for some) and a considerably heavier chassis.
