The 11' - 13' Mustangs would be so mich cooler if their transmissions weren't built in China, and didn't break so easily. Honestly that's the only thing that stopped me from getting one.

    Seriously Ford? China?

If China has the market cornered on making . Potty Mouth .. Potty Mouth .. Potty Mouth .. Potty Mouth .ty transmissions, Subaru's 5MT is built there as well.

So far I've put 83K mi of use/abuse through my "glass" 5mt and its working exactly the same as it did right after the 1k mi break-in.

that said, both cars have their quirks. Personally, I'd not buy a rustang even if someone paid me to. Now that I've said that, its because of that live axle, garbage trans and an interior designed for giant people. Mechanical aside.. I'm 5'9" and 185-190lbs and I feel like a little kid sitting in Dad's car when I get into a mustang. That's after the seat/wheel have been adjusted.

I test drove a stang, camaro and charger before buying my wrx. ( I also test drove a audi a3 wagon, vw gti and a genesis coup) .. I still came home with the WRX.

Car choice is highly subjective and every owner has different needs and wants. Personally imho these two cars dont even come close to sharing the same market share.. but if compared together the wrx is the more sensible car to own for me. The rest of you blokes gotta figure it out for yourselves lol

get out n drive em! The cars will decide for you.

You can thank some VBB plugin for the Potty Mouth stuff. What a foolish plugin.

Subaru's five speed may not have been built in China, but it's got about as good of a reputation.

LOL, some wiseacre admin changed the default "*" to "Potty Mouth" in the AdminCP Censorship options.

They aren't, but everyone keeps mentioning the GT, which starts at 35K - about the same as a base STI

There are a lot of better cars than the subaru but you'll either spend more or your needs are different than what the wrx fits. For what it does and the way it does it, its hard to find an exact comparison in other brands. Its not so much as its better, but its not directly comparable. I was very very near buying the a3 wagon.. I still think they look better hands down than the wrx/sti.. but couldn't get it in a true manual trans with awd. I didn't want an auto, even if it was one of those super nifty dual clutch flappy paddle ones. So that again brought me back to the subaru.

?? In the U.S. a base GT starts just under 30k. Where are you getting 35k from? You can get leather, 3:73 gears, and brembos for 35k
