    RX-8 vs STi ver5

Yesterday was the first time I've really gotten to let the STi stretch its legs a bit through the mountains here on RT 139: Google Maps

This was more of a "spirited drive" than any kind of race, but an absolute blast for a few hours on a gorgeous day along a hardly used mountain road. I lead an RX-8 (no idea what year but appeared mostly stock) going up the mtn and followed for the downhill. We both kept up pretty well, though the power advantage was readily apparent coming out of the corners.

It's definitely easier to chase and keep up than to lead and pull away...

awesome! i have a Version 5 STI sedan as well, and i love taking it to the mountains. we have some good mountain drives here but i would love to come over and drive that 139 one day. here the best road i have found is US route 129. (interesting how the numbers almost match)

Much better with the sub titles then the english dubbing but still an awesome series. Seen every episode at least 3 times.

Always wanted to drive the tail of the dragon in the states but haven't made it out there yet.

Definitely had lots of elevation change. It started at the lake, went all the way to the top and all the way back down again.

Loved Initial D. I bought all the crappy Tokyo Pop dubbed versions though before I knew any better. You'd be surprised how many Hachi Roku's there are still on the road! They're all over the place.
