Depends on lots of things (trannys, gears, temps, alt.) mostly its driver mod and launch. From a roll stock for stock a say Mustang would win 90% of the time.WRX's just dont trap very high for their 1/4 times. But at the drag strip AWD can be a huge factor. From what even seen at the track, driver equal... Mustang by a car or two in 1/4 mile.

Nah, its a Honda CBR600RR. Where I live I can ride my bike through out most of the year, and I'm about 3 hours away from the resorts.

I'm from Seattle where it's really really nice for about 1-2 months of the year and the rest is just wet. Not the best for owning a motorcycle. We do have great snowboarding at Baker but it's a 2.5 hr drive from where I live. I haven't been boarding in 3 years. Got married, bought a house and haven't had time or much extra money for play stuff. Being married is awesome though as is owning my own house!

I'm surprised at the disrespect the stang is getting here. I think it was insideline or edmunds that had a racing driver pull lap times on the new GT and the V8 M3 on a roadcourse. the stang was .09 seconds slower and I think that's a pretty huge milestone for ford. I'm not sure if the STI could keep up with the V8 M3 on a road course.

There's a lot of inertia from the days of Fox-body Mustangs, I think. Many import owners may not be aware that the new car is on a different level with regard to handling. Plus 412hp in the new GT for under $30,000 sounds pretty good to me.

OTOH, I haven't driven one, so I can't attest as to whether or not I'd like how it feels. There's more to car selection than just the track times, IMO.

I own both a WRX and a Mustang GT. I appreciate both. 2 different cars; both a joy to drive.

i know personally at the track i was laying the smake down on the 06 stangs in my 07wrx but my wrx. my last dyno was at 280awhp. i also had a friend that had a 06 stang and we would run all the time when he or i would do an upgrade to see where we stand.as many times as we ran he only bet me once from a roll and it was barley a 1/2 car. but i also feel i was always the better driver.

i have raced cobra's with crappy drivers that thought they was the bomb and took them. but only because they suck at driving.they usually had a bad launch and shift like a snail.and i have had my ass handed to me by plenty of cobra's cuz it has way more power and had good drivers.

so what im saying is it all depends on who is driving and what mods each have.
