    First time down the strip....

Took my 09 WRX down the drag strip for the first time yesterday, had an absolute blast!

Posted a 0-60ft time of 1.9 secs, RT best of the day was .198, best time of the day was a 13.6 secs 1/4 mile.

I was pretty happy with the results and got some great videos, only just lost a race to a pro-tuned stage 2 evo that was using its launch control!

Il def be going again just with some more power!!!

good run! Just curious if you've dyno'd your stage 2? It should be in the 250-280whp range right?

never dynoed it yet, I would hope around 265whp, this is all done at an elevation of 1600ft, the Canadian prairies are pretty high up!

Yeah elevation really saps the power. I'm at 5280 minimum when in Denver. Once you get into the mountains it's easy to find yourself at 7-9000+. Wow the air gets thin up there!

Huh? Would have thought with all those mods the times would be better.

I am stock and ran a 1/4 in 14.0 with a trap speed of 99.25mph and thats with a crappy 2.3 60ft. My next run about the same, but with a 1.9 60ft, but missed 3rd - still managed a 99mph at 14.1.

Ok, was not 100% stock as I am running 100% Amsoil synthetic, K&N Drop Filter.

    Where are you located???

If you follow the thread were talking about the amount of difference elevation makes to a pass.
I would like to see you run a 14.0 at SIR in saskatoon at 1600ft elevation!

The higher up you are the thinner the air meaning less oxygen and poorer combustion.

In perspective a pro tuned stage 2 evo x ran a 13.1 using launch control and the MR twin clutch automatic gearbox which shifts faster than colin mcrae could!

A stock wrx with the perfect run might do a 14.5, maybe.

I dunno how big of effect the elevation has that big of a factor here. I ran a 96 Interga GSR a few years ago and only ran a few tenths of a second off of what the car could run brand new. No mods.
