the srt is still a pos neon thats' not reliable....

truth - if you take the time to surf srtforums you'll find a thread that lists all off the 100,000 mile plus members and there stories. several of them are 400+ whp for many miles. some still have the stock clutch.

the srt is fast in a strait line but i'll smoke it any turn!

truth - in 05 (last year of the car) it was faster in every timed competition in a road and track comparison with the 05 wrx.

    the car sounds like xxx

truth the only totally subjective thing that's actually up to discussion.

i don't have time to cite my sources but i'll follow up on this later.

why doesn't the neon have rear power windows?

answer - dodges uses the same window motor in every single car. the one they use is to big to fit the rear doors. dodge did not see a cost effective enough reason to source another motor just for the neons.
People typically feel the need to believe that their car is better than every other car in every way. This is always incorrect, as there is always a better car on the road. To me, the SRT-4 is a great car for the price. Sure, I'd take an STi over an SRT-4 any day, but at the price, the performance of an STi is essentially compromised. I drove my friend's SRT-4 on a number of occasions and found that it outperformed my stage 2 WRX in a straight line and in the bendies. Plus larger brakes and better suspension components in a car under $22,000, you can't go wrong.

The interior is lower-quality compared to similar cars, but to me the SRT-4 is like a modern day muscle car. Recall that the 1969 GTO offered carpeted interior only as an option

dang, with exception of the last 2 posts, theres been a lot of srt hate lol...the regular srt isnt a great handling car, buts its not that bad either. Also, the acr version is a pretty decent handling car, imo. Biggest issue is when you get drivers who go fast as they can in a straight line, and when a turn comes up they lift off the gas/slam on the brakes mid-way through the turn and Poof, throttle lift oversteer and spin out right off the road.

but ya, give any idiot a fast car, beer and a road, theres gonna be an issue haha

Especially in a FWD car, when you experience oversteer and lift off the throttle, your motor will engine brake and you lose complete traction with the turning wheels and end up with your car wrapped around a tree!

the biggest problem I've seen with high power fwd's is that on corner apex when they start to stand back into the throttle.. the wheels spin and they loose steering ability.. total understeer

i sold it because the motor blew up. i could of waited for a free replacement from the builder but the average turn around time is about a year. i had already spent 4 years building the car and during that time it ran a total of about 2 months. mostly only in 1 week spurts.
