Thats some good stuff there... I did see a prius in Omaha NE with an exhaust (probably a muffler). I live right behind a high school so i see all kinds of weird things that kids do to their cars.

I don't understand how you can make fun of someone for being up on their high horse owning a hybrid, yet sit on the forum and talk down about those exact people. To each their own, seriously. They probably cannot, for the life of them, understand why you'd want a little piece of metal in your engine that sucks down MPGs above 4k RPM.
I thought about getting one a few years ago. Then I found out when the battery dies. The replacement is like $5k-8k. I was like??? What is the point of saving on gas when you have to pay 5k for a replacement battery! Sucks.

The battery will eventually come down, but yeah, the price is absurd.

The new Nissan Leaf and Chevy Volt are actually pretty interesting.

OEM battery cheap? Everyone knows OEM is arm and leg. If you buy 3rd party battery... the manufacture is going to tell you ...."void all warranty"....suck eitherway. OEM is never cheap and never goes down. Actually, the older the OEM parts are the more expensive it gets.

The Leaf photos I've seen are very interesting. I like the design. I'd go check it out in person.

Yeah, the Leaf is definitely pretty interesting. It would be ideal for the individual that does not commute very far, since it is 100% electric.

As more and more electric cars are put into production, the competitive market will eventually force the prices to decrease.

Not bad thinking, especially since the other one is already closed. It would make an interesting experiment for me to see how that works out. /fingers tapping on chin

You don't buy a Prius to save money. You get it to save the planet.

Though, I'm having trouble figuring out how shipping zinc around the world from western Canada to the Western US accomplishes that...

    Thank you!

Its not saving anything; its using other materials with less hot topic fossil fuel usage by the consumer. So the consumer can wear a super special environmental hat and march a greener path of the same cliff.
