Just curious, what does everyone think would win in a race between a stock wrx and a stock vw r32? The r32 has more hp but I dont think theyre a turbo... could be wrong though. Just curious! Let me know if you have an opinion on this

The WRX/STI versus R32 debate is an old one. Two different cars with different focii. The interior and the exhaust note of the R32 are wonderful.

Has more hp but is heavier I believe. Most likely both stock with the same driver could be a neck and neck race with maybe an extreme slight edge to the wrx. But who knows.
i always thought the r32 had some sort of forced induction but i could be wrong

my brother has an 04 r32 and when my wrx was stock it was very close. pretty much even, once i went stage 2 i definitely had an advantage over him, and it was greatly noticeable. and the wrx and r32 both have and amazing exhaust note.
met one on the nys thruway about a year ago. the same guy was egging me on 2x before we finally went for it. i rarely pull stupid crap or race. we both pulled from 60mph i reached 110 and slowed immediately. had about 2 cars on him when i checked my rearview mirror and was slowing down. don't know much about manual's except there faster than autos, i have a stage 2 auto 02 wrx and was completely surprised of the outcome.

The 08 R32's run mid-14's at 95 mph. Not really fast in a straight line, but they are very refined and fun to drive. In a straight line, my 09 Impreza GT (auto) with a DP and tune would destroy my (stock) 08 R32. But I prefer driving the R32.
