Psych!!! No way I would try that beast. It was the first one I've seen on the street though. Pretty cool, but he killed me just by looks alone.

Nothing like seeing a supercar to make you feel small

They look much better in person than in photos and they look great from above. Even in car-crazy southern California I have only seen a handful. I could do without the midsection stripe but that's life.

Truth be told I would have loved a mid-engined TTS instead, because the ultra-secret, ultra-canceled Group S and the TT look so similar whereas the Group S and the R8 don't share quite the same look -- this leaves me with an R8 looking wrong and a TT with the motor in the wrong end.

Someone have Ingolstadt notify me when they fix that.

    I'd love to run into a V8 R8. But a V10 would toast me.

Same engine as the Gallardo, unless I'm mistaken. I'll bet that's a sweet sound.

Months ago I saw a aston martin driving around in south salt lake... I thought kinda out of place for the ghetto... and I saw an audi r8 on the freeway being driven by an old laddy... I wonder if she really knew what her car is capable of?

I am not kidding when I say this but the owner of the company I work for has...2!!! He has a silver R8 V8...and that was too "SLOW" I guess so he picked up a black R8 V10 when that one was released When he parks it in the parking lot next time, I will take pictures (I have some on my old phone...will try and get it off). Oh...he is the owner of Cablevision, Knicks, Rangers, etc...Jim Dolan (I work for his new company News 12 Long Island).

Call me retro but I really would not mind seeing an R8 with a proper straight 5 cyl, 20 valve motor with 2,1 L displacement and force fed by a KKK the size of a trashcan lid.

The V8 and V10 are great motors but they just lack the provenance of the inline 5 and of all the motors I've heard from anyone, up to a V12, the inline 5 sounds the absolute angriest. Very, very angry.

With modern management systems 400 kW or so should not be out of the realm of possibility for such a motor IMO. It would meet emissions restrictions only underground in volcanoes but that's another story.

This will of course happen a few weeks after pigs fly and just before hell freezes over, but dreams are free so there I go.
