Ya i didnt look at the RPMs the power jumps in at... either way i bet it pulls pretty hard. I would hate to have to be at 6k rpms all the time to feel the real power though... thats my current redline.

No doubt. One of the countless reasons I look the other way when there is young driver in a wannabe fast car at a stop light. Might be fun to blow by them like they're standing still but they always try to make of for their poorly endowed cars with risky driving.

dyno from last tune and now needs redone this year for some reason
looks like a supra dyno chart. over 350whp for the last 2000 rpms. good things those cars are light.

in the end bigger is better. 2.4>1.8 and so on. i think it would have much better power band with a smaller turbo and larger displacement.

Could you imagine going down the road in your car at full throttle and having something in your car break....that would total your car. The HP numbers are alsome, but the car screams death....sorry, that just my opinion.

A friend of mine has 400whp on a fwd eclipse and could never hookup. THe power band was too short and the car only took off after 4 gear. Really who races in 4th gear? He was doing 13.5 - 14.0 1/4mile runs. He said that when he was 300whp he had better times. He has since sold his car and is looking for a awd car.

There is such a thing as too much power=unusable power.

    Good number.
True, its like a 500whp cobra on street tires, wont hook till 3rd or 4th. It can be fixed with some sticky tires though.

I can relate to this thread.

As you can tell by my avatar, i had a 2006 civic Si before my WRX.

    My mods were:
Comptech Stage 1 supercharger kit. 6 psi.
    Fujita short ram intake.
Vibrant Performance race header w/ the high flow cat.
    Greddy Evo II catback.

Dynoed at 260 whp and 190 wtq.

Even with only 260 whp, traction was useless in 1st and second if you shifted hard. It would just light the tires up all the way to 8200 rpms.

Now anything over 300-400 whp is even insane wheel spin in 3rd gear if driven hard off the line.

Now, with that said, the new Si has the hondata flashpro to tune with now, and a stock k20 engine has been proven time and time again to handle insane amounts of power on totally stock internals. And there is huge aftermarket turbo support out now since the release of the Hondata Flash pro.

a 400 whp K20 powered honda will most likely hand an sti its ass in any roll race.

Heres some pics of my 2006 Si i had.
