Premium gas for the the mileage that the WRX gets is way out of my league.
Not to mention that my insurance quote was at a price equivalent to hiring my own driver for a year
Just so glad that I won't be driving this 200,000+ sunfire anymore!

I just want to thank everyone for their input and stories. Hope I didn't cause TOO much controversy between the members of this forum.
thats a very good and wise decision... just get a few bolt ons and you can get some not too shabby numbers... look at it as an awd nissan sentra spec v with a boxer motor...

do you have to get a new car? you could probably find a used wrx at a good price if it had some miles on it.

Im about to buy a wrx, oddly enough I cannot find any Si's cheaper than the price of the used wrx. not that Im complaining

I know how you feel though since Im 19. I'm paying for my car but I'm going through my moms insurance so I had to do some convincing. it wasnt hard though, the ladies dont know what a WRX is so I just said imprezza and left out the bit about a turbo. and upsaled the AWD and safety features

This is the first I've heard of this.
Can you tell me what the date range is? I have one of the first 09 WRX's with about 12k on it now.

I'm in the same spot, but I didn't want to compromise with my parents on a car, so Ill be spending my money ( around 6 grand) on a car of my choice, however it will be on their insurance. My first choice is a wrx with around 100k miles. I am 18, should I look at something more practical? I will be in VA so I dont need the awd. I was thinking either an integra or older bimmer 3 series? Any suggestions?

Insurance for a younger driver is usually the toughest part... if they're covering that and dont have issues with the quote for the wrx.. find as close to cherry example as you can for your $$ and go for it.
