Had a Porsche last night on the way home from working on building my sti engine at my buddies garage and he got on my ass for some reason. When we hit the slow merge area after the on ramp to the highway he flew out to the left lane and passed me. When he was next to me I dropped a gear. He moved back over to the right lane floored as I flew right by him. I gave him the ricer 4 ways just to piss him off. If was hard to tell what it was the 2 seconds he had in front of me but it was some sort of newer Cararra model. This type of thing happens all the time.
Sorry, Just made me remember this picture.

Haha, I love that picture. I love messing with those guys. Even the guys at the Porsche dealer up the street stopped messing with me when I happen to catch them on a test drive.

No kidding right? After moving hundreds of threads out of EIT I botch the only one here. Trust me, we all want the buttons sorted out (e.g. the normal move thread one).

The first time I ran into a STI I was shocked at how fast it was. It was a sunny day on the way home on a two lane highway and at the last light before the road opens up to a safe 1 mile run before you hit the next cross road or light. I come up next to a 2005ish STI that is packed with mods under the hood. I don't know what he had for sure, but I do know he had an exhaust, front inner cooler, after market wheels, Brembo brakes, lowered and he had a console full of after market gauges and tuning boxes. This STI did not sound like any other Subaru I have ever heard before. It sounded like a Porsche 911 that was running rough.

Anyway... I pull up next to him in my 08 Hayabusa admiring his car checking all the cool after market parts he had installed including the Manufacturer stickers he had on the side window. So the light turns green and all I hear is tires spinning followed by a cloud of smoke and this guy catapulted off the line. It was then I realized the guy was racing me, so I lunched my Busa - already a good two car lengths behind him now so by the time I tap out 1st gear at 72mph I have yet to catch the STI. I was thinking as I'm shifting to second, what the heck is this guy running? As I tap out 2nd I finally pass him at 100mph and by the time I start rolling on 3rd gear it was then that I start to pull away like a freight train. Needless to say I shut the Busa down at 125mph as the speed limit is 50mph. The STI did no shut down and he zoomed pass me at over 120mph.

I never did talk to the guy because he was just too crazy for me to risk killing myself or someone else on this road especially as we entered the residential area. I just remember thinking how fast this car was and the last time anyone gave me a run on my Busa was a 08ish Z06 Vette. What also blew my mind was that he literally smoked all 4 tires and left a black tire marks for at least 10 feet. Wow!!!

It was this race that got me interested in the WRX line which then led me to weeks of research and one of the many reasons why I traded in my gas guzzling Toyota Tundra for a 2010 WRX.

P.S. Have not had a chance to race another WRX yet, but if you're willing come look for me in Seattle when it's not raining - oh I'll be riding the Busa when we do as my WRX is all stock.

    I don't buy this...

I get 13.6's with 1.8 60fts at just under 100mph with very similar mods. At Bandimere...

And judging by my 1.8 60ft... you know that I know how to drive.

I don't get it. So you have a wrx and you're calling out wrx's to come race you in Seattle but since you're wrx is stock you're going to race them on your bike? What sense does that make?

You shut down your bike at "only" 125 mph out of safety concerns? hmm. people that street race like that are flippin' ignorant, especially when it involves a residential area.

sorry, that was my way of having fun with sarcasm. I've seen most of the WRX's out there and there is no way I would stand a chance after 60mph in my stock WRX.

If I want to go really, really fast I just hop on the Busa.

You are correct, but if you saw this road you would understand why it's safe. This section of road is in a valley with a bridge. No were for any one to enter the road and if their is no one in front of you or in the opposite lane the only think you would kill or hurt on this road is yourself.

But, yes entering a residential are at 125 is stupid which is why I shut it down and rolled through at 50mph.
