How you treat the car has a big impact on the car on longevity. I make over 350 whp with LGT gears (which are not a huge upgrade either) and haven't broken anything yet. However I'm not launching the car either. Keep in mind that it doesn't necessarily take a catastrophic event to break something; damage is accumulative. I've also busted 3rd gear without any heavy abuse on an '05 WRX gearset.

I never thought about those gears.. i dont plan on ever launching the car, but id like to be able to pin it in first gear w/o worrying. Guess ill just save for the ppgs. With the mods i listed could i reach 300whp under 20psi? Im sure theres alot of variables in it but is it possible is really my question.

Yeah I agree I've seen 18g's hit around 310hp-320hp to the wheels but like you said, ton's of variables.

Sounds good. I want a nice conservative tune thats not to muh prssure on the stock motor n tranny. I baby my car for the most part though. Is there a significant difference between the forced performance mitsubishi turbo and the blouch 18? Theres a 400 dollar difference in price but they look almost the same, any thoughts?

Are you looking at the same turbos because i know they come in TD05H-18G 8cm^2 and the TD05H-18G 7cm^2 the only diffrence being the turbine wheel but that could be a cause in price diffrence.

Deadbolt put out some crappy turbos. Good luck finding one anyways.

I see the deadbolts for sale still, ive just heard of FP having some bad customer service. Ill call blouch before i spend any money of course though.

FP is hard to get ahold of sometimes, that's what they are referring to. You're more likely to get someone's voicemail because they are usually in the shop.

I mean they come with a 1 year warrenty so if it has a problem they will rebuild or replace it. Should i get the 8cm or 7, almost seems like the 8 would be better for a 18g.

rotated gt30 or gt28rs disco potato ftw! but if you looking for a direct replacement and have future plans of higher power lvls i'd do a 18g with the 2.0 and if you ever plan on a 2.5L get a 20g.

I wish i had the money to have a rotated setup. I just spent a good hour at the tuning shop. Will be going with an 18g with a conservative tune till i get a new block. Cant wait to get started... im not very patient

And to the 8cm or 7cm question, it all depends what you would like. 8cm = better top and but slower spool. 7cm= faster spool but weaker top, end compared to the 8.
