Evo X vs. WRX

I've always wanted to run an Evo X. The ones I have seen, don't want to play. One of them tried to play against a sweeping corner. I would've been right on him but this guy in a minivan wanted to switch lanes and messed up the momentum I had (5th gear at 60 mph sucks). He ended up not switching lanes and the Evo had a 3-4 car length lead on me going into the turn, and kept it that way. After the turn, it straightened out, and he wanted no part in racing me even though it was clear. Guess he thought I "lost" on the turn, and didn't want to bother anymore.

All I get a chance to run are Evo VIII's, many in my neighborhood.

I had my mom and my brother in my STi and it's pretty modded out my car.

his OTS map numbers dont seem TOO far off.

with my WRX i made 240WHP on my cobb stage 2 map. the evo from the factory has about 70ish HP more than a wrx.

240+ 70 = 310, just like he stated. with a custom tune it should be even higher.

also keep in mind EVERY dyno is different so his ballpark numbers really arent something to about because they're pretty accurate. (that is assuming the gains for an evo, will be close to the gains a wrx sees with a stg II map.)

not according to this. it only put down 213 whp stock. thats a long way from 245-255 whp.

Go to the Evo forums for a GSR, not MR and on 93 not 91... it's 245-255... look it up on the Evo forums if you would like.

Here's a link if you'd like to look at results from an X with just a TBE and a tune... 344 whp, notice he already had an exhaust on the car that put the car at 295 whp. These cars respond VERY well to mods. If you really want me too later i'll find you a base pull with 245-255 hp. 213 whp is probably what a base WRX pulls.

That's a nice try. Probably haven't been in the scene for a while. Bouchers dyno reads really low. He was the first to dyno an Evo 8 when they came out and on his dyno he got either 180 or 190 whp. Everyone got up in arms and wanted their money back from Mitsu but that clearly wasn't the case once they got them on another dyno.

I like the EVO X's as well...but I love my Subie! The EVOs just don't rumble quite as well!
