2004 stg 2 STi vs. 200? Lotus Elise

I don't know how this keeps happening on my way to work. Last week was a Viper, this week it's a Lotus. Obviously not quite the power, but still somewhat of a fancy car.

Anyhow we're cruising in the passing lane at about 60mph waiting for one car to get over and then it's clear sailing for at least a mile up the road. As soon as the car moves, the guy in the Lotus hammers it. Like I did with the Viper, and since I'm not really into aggressive driving, I just drop it into 5th and take off with him. I was really surprised how little power the Lotus had and I ended up switching lanes because I could've just drove right through him and had some serious car lengths on him.

Since we'd hit what I consider my allowable top speed in an off-track environment, and since I was pulling all the way through , I let off and just pulled back in behind him. On my way off the ramp at my exit I got a thumb and a super big mustache. I think he felt kind of embarrassed about the whole thing. I have to imagine it was the base model and not the SC, but the guy was really just driving a Toyota MR2 with expensive badges.

Ha i raced a newer looking lotus elise yesterday and pulled about a car and a 1/2 on him i was really surprised i thought it would be allot faster! Went from a first roll to about the middle of forth.

Also would likely prove to be a bit wrong if you tried to keep up with him in the twisties. The Elise was never intended to be a streetracer.

This is true. Our cars were built for the twisties as well though. I'm sure the Lotus is fun as hell. I'm just surprised how little pick up it had.

Lotus Elise is my only realistic dream car. i really like them and can appreciate what they are made for.

Our cars are meant for the twisties, off the road. Elise is made for on the road, and are essentially street legal go-carts. stock vs stock, they could twist through the turns faster.
