I noticed the winnipeg license plate frame but didn't think anything of it since the wheels were the lighter grey. Makes sense though if the OP is in fact in Canada.... which would explain the interior.

Yup, it's basically a 2008 WRX but built in 09. (or late 08 you know what I mean).

I'm not sure if they come with a Auto, but I know they do come with the 5 speed.

if you leased it leave it stock. If you plan on modding you should have bought it. Dealer isnt going to like it when you show up in a leased vehicle with a problem that has been modded.

Turboback exhaust and flash to stage 2 (via Cobb AP or other means) and enjoy. If bought used it'll cost you under $1000. Keep your stock parts and put back on once your lease is up.

    IMHO i wouldn't mod a leased vehicle.

You could tell the year of any car (if am not mistaken) by the vin number. Digit #10 out of the 17 should be the year. For example here (I put a square around the 10th digit)

According to the Vin plate of some random impreza I found on google its a 2005. Here's the chart I use

Vehicle Identification Number - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

    Hope this helps.

xtremez2k: According to the VIN you sent, you do in fact have an 09, why it's not registering on carfax is beyond me.

Ok, I just read this thread and I'm no liking it so far. I'll be leasing a WRX this coming April and according to you guys, I'd be getting the 224hp engine ? That makes no sense whatsoever. It's called FRAUD

Now I'll be paranoid this spring. Is there another way to tell by looking at the engine ? (Looking at the turbo perhaps ? )

Check the build date and wheels for starters.
