No such thing an a 2009 WRX GT. there is the Impreza 2.5GT or some just call it the Impreza GT. Either way 2.5GT = GT

It sounds like the dealer had a left over 08 WRX and put the 2009 grill on it and tried to pass it off as a new 2009 WRX to an un-suspecting customer.

Look in your drivers side door jam and tell us what the build date of the car is.

If it were a 2009 it would have come standard with the Sti rear spoiler and the body kit and rear diffuser. plus the different Seats with the WRX logo and red stitching.

Sounds like you got stiffed.

it says made in 05/09 so it is a 2009. i think it just has a 2008 engine in it. it does have an sti spoiler on it as well, i think it looks exactly like an 09 minus the seat stiching n a few other things. it feels pretty fast but then again i guess the 2008 wrx isnt too shabby either for speed so im not sure. here are some pics:

no, thats not the sti spoiler. I was refering to the 5 door hatch having the sti spoiler.

Looks like an 08 WRX to me with the 09 Grill. Either your pulling our leg or subaru screwed up. Or the dealer is pulling some major tricks.

5. Body lip kit was an option on the 08's. Yours clearly has the body kit. It came standard on the 09 WRX.

I has a 50/50 08/09 interior. the seats and stitching say 08 but the center console with the silver trim scream 09, so does the HVAC controls along with the red hazard. Was this vehicle new or was it used when you leased it? Looks like there was swapping that happened with this car.

OP, you seriously need to go back to the dealership and sort this out. what is the build date? The VIN you gave is invalid so how can insure a car with an invalid VIN? Stuff is just not adding up here.

YEP i say the dealer did some swapping to make the lease more appealing.

Lets lease an 08 and put 1009 parts on it.

Does it have the Subaru, Impreza, and WRX badges on the rear? If any of those three badges are missing or changed id highly suspect dealer fraud here.

Im starting to think that the only reasoning behind this is that Subaru must have created some special spec WRX's for Leasing.

09 exterior styling, grill and the lip kit. But stuck with the 224 hp motor and 08 seats and interior minuse the dash trim.

license plate frame = winnipeg= canada.

maybe there are different options in canada that we dont know about, guys.

it probably wouldve saved us some hassle if you mentioned you werent in the US.
