The new GTR is a neat machine, and a technological tour de force...but I really don't want my sports car to be a technological tour de force.
It also looks really big to me in person. I've only seen a couple, though, and that was while in traffic. I'd like to get a close look.

+1 I just doesn't do it for me. I've tried to like it but it just looks boring. It's a car that's made to be numerically great. If they were handing them out though I'd take one?
+1 On a side note I find it funny how many futuristic sci-fi tv shows and movies still use the ds21 as "future car" props, considering they stopped making them what 40 years ago?

For the money you'd be hard pressed to see me in anything that isnt a LS-A powered vehicle.
With that being said a 911 would beat it out on my list.

Self-leveling suspension with height control.
Mid-engined.
Moving headlamps that tracked steering input.
Digital dash with no stalks.
Aerodynamic exterior with covered rear wheel wells.
It was at least three decades ahead of its time. In the early 90s there were several companies that specialised in generating completley "new" DS21s, for those people that still wanted one but did not want to buy used.
Since you like Italian stuff too, here's Eros Ramazotti and Tina Turner; Eros drives the DS21:

"Better" is quite subjective
There are lots of cars that are faster in a strait line, around corners, stopping. Also cars that are lighter and more ridged. Cars that get better gas mileage. Cars that are more comfortable. Cars that have bigger sunroofs. Cars that come with better stereos or paint.
Most cars available today have at least one redeeming quality that is "Better" than the WRX. A Pontiac Vibe for instance, has better gas mileage and more head room.

It's amazing how people are bashing on the GTR.. a Turbocharged AWD sports car.. what (atleast i think) everyone on this forum is obsessed with.. just because of the looks. You drive a Subaru Impreza. If you are more concerned with looks rather than performance.. why are you here? Why did you buy an STi? I went to SEMA this year. Saw a lot of GTRs.. the car looks incredible in person.. especially with models standing around it

Perhaps its the difference in price. An STi is what? less than 1/2 the price? In that price range I could buy an un-attractive car that's fast but when you start getting around the GTR's price I'd hope its both. It's not like your only choices are the GTR or an extremely slow but nice looking car there a lot of fast options out there. Everyone has different priorities.

I agree.. There is a 2007 Corvette Z06 in my driveway and also a Lexus GX470. Both were bought for around the same $$$. I'll prove your point for you. I'm just saying, it seems like you are contradicting yourself when you drive a WRX.. a car that you most likely chose for its blistering speed and excellent handling.. not its stunning good looks.. and then go on to criticize the GTR.. by far one of the best performing sports cars in the $100,000 and under price range just because of its looks. Sorry just doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me man!

Well if the looks dont ruffle your feathers how about the factory installed launch control that when you use it and it breaks something they refuse to fix that item.
I still think it's over price and over hyped and will probably fair as well as the Supra, 3000GT VR4, and RX7 of the mid 90's did.
It will undoubtely hold it's value and have more fans in 10 years then it did when it was released.
