2003 Merc AMG

It was me alone in my 2009 WRX and a 60 yr dude with 4 passengers in what seemed like 2003 AMG. He raced me on a red light and won..although only by a couple of ft...I am happy since I spent a third of what he did on his car.....

what kind of mercedes was it, and they make "amg" cars that just have rims and body kits w/o the motor work from dealer, so a possible congrats, prob not though. rx8, thats not even fai

Yep, there are quite a few AMG models ranging from a supercharged v6 or v8 to a 6.3 liter V8 to a twin turbo v12. Odds are very good that if it says AMG it's going to be fast.

It's not really all that powerful, comparatively. It has about 350hp and it weighs ~3,500lbs. Add in the passengers and I'm not terribly surprised by how close it was. You would have been beaten much worse, of course, if he was alone as well or if it was on a highway run.

AMG C32 are at 349 hp and good torque. With pulley and tune some say they are near 400 hp. 0-60 just under 5 sec stock.

I would be interested in you quantifying this statement with actual data that makes the AMG exactly three times better than his car.

And, btw, I like AMG cars a lot so I'm not bashing it.
