The cobalt SS/tc is a nice American made sport compact for a nice price that performs great, but it is still FWD.

To me they look like they will tip over on the first sharp turn. They do look okay though.

I got my STi for only a couple thousand more than what they wanted for an 09 WRX premium. about 33 thousand out the door for a brand new 09. Sadly I wasn't able to jump on that smoking 08 STi deal. But yeah most dealerships were asking for 28-31 for a 09 WRX Premium. So, even if I could have only picked one up for 29 thats only four thousand and for the money I get a better turbo, suspension, transmission, brakes, and diffs. Plus the interior isn't half bad either

Now that I saw that title, it reminded me a story this guy at work tried to convince me of.

He said his brother purchased the Cobalt SS and had nothing done to it, completely stock and it was running close to 270hp and he managed to race and beat a Corvette. I then asked him if I could see this amazing thing and he said that unfortunately his brother ended up hitting a tree and totaling it. I dunno about that whole thing beating a Corvette there ..

My buddy has on of the TC models...pretty quick and i think they put put 260 hp.

Really want to get a stage 2 wrx up against him.

Heck, no. I traded in my 05 Aerio for my 09 WRX. If you want to talk about driving sailboats, well, that was just the sail. And, I still hit 1.04 g in very low-key autocrossing with it.

The WRX, I'm glad to say, hasn't yet even protested any of the corners; of course, I've only been on the street, so far.

the new TURBO cobalt ss are certainly not slow. I believe their 260 hp and 260 tq. they have been known to trap 102 to 103 so from a roll i would watch out... But the older supercharged ones are a joke.

Honda, Your correct, I was looking at this car pretty hard for awhile back in late '07 early '08, But since I live in Maine I figure a AWD is best. I think 13.99 is the best pass any of the mags got it(the Turbo SS) to run at 102.??mph, I can't remeber which one but the best pass for an '09 WRX was 13.5 most are saying they have a hard time launching the vehicle and a roll in best and I think they are post like 13.7-8's so unless someone misses a gear the WRX all day long!!

I think she was talking about the cobalt, but the new cobalt sss is supposed to have a Nurburing (sp?) tuned suspension so they can handle.

the tc/ss is a great car all around a total turn around from the sc/ss. the tc/ss is quick and response well to mods and handles great once you get rid of the boat anchor wheels.

I don't think they are. I'm not sure if there is even a Pontiac dealership in Royal Oak, MI anymore.

My "Bobcat" package came from SLP (kind of an STI-ish tuner branch for GM, but standalone. They made some special edition cars for GM in the past, like the Firehawk)
