My 05 WRX vs 07 Volvo S40 ... anyone?

I used to have a 2006 S40 T5 AWD 6speed with intake, exhaust and reflash. The car was a 100mph trap car. I now own a stage 2 catted 2006 limited wrx and can tell you that you will put 1 to 2 cars from a 60mph roll all day long.

Right on. That's a really good thing to hear from an ex S40 owner, with a manual on top of that! Granted, my 05 doesn't have the torquey 2.5 that the 06s have, but similar hp numbers at Stage 2 typically i think...

Correct me if I'm wrong, because I don't know much about the "trap speed" stuff... but if you run 100mph at the end of a quarter mile that's your trap speed right? If so, wouldn't 100mph be a decent trap speed or no? I'm unsure of whether or not I could even hit 100 at the end of the 1/4 run...

Yup that's your speed when hitting the end of the 1/4 mile. Also a 100mph trap speed or higher is a wuick daily driver car in my opinion. I've seen stage 2 wrx's trap anywhere from 100-103mph depending on the years(bugeye/hawkeye)

Well idk $150 per hour for a really good local tuner for example...I'm sure that adds up quickly. That's like LAWYER PRICES! lol

Volvo uses a Heldex (sp) awd system I believe which is the same for the VW R32. The car launches faily well but doens't rip off the line as hard a wrx can. A stock S40 T5 AWD 6speed traps around 95-96mph range. There is limited support for the S40. There is a much higher support for the S60-R and C30 turbo

good kill. 1.5 seconds is alot. what was ur trap speed? did u ever get the S drives on? i just got mine on a few weeks ago. they are pretty good. the wet traction could be a lil better imo.

Yea, I love the S.Drives

I had a horrible track time though. My best time was 15 seconds flat I think that day. My best time ever is like 14.6

Weather was nasty. Altitude too.
