evo 7 ate my ****!

So im on the verazano bridge driving home from school going about 70 cruisin in 5thgear and out of nowhere a mexican in a gray evo 7 is roaring catching up to me pretty fast so i drop to 3rd and floor it for about 10 seconds and he dissapears O_o...I thought I was going to have fun but guess not lol so after the toll we end up side by side at a light and hes reving his engine and the light turns and he dumps first and goes meanwhile i take off slowly to save my already f'd up transmission and i end up catching him at the end of my 3rd gear around 7000 rpm and then pass him and get a good block on him midway threw 4th doing about 90..I stopp as soon as i hit 90, way too fast for me on service roads plus I had to turn left but yea I just bought this 02 wrx a month ago and all it has is a k&n typhoon intake, Helix down and up pipe and an HKS carbon TI exhaust.. Would that push out more hp than an 07 evo?????

ooo well i get my evos mixed up maybe a 6? it was the mr one. nut im not sure if the car is tuned its pushing 15 to 17 pounds of turbo so im guessing it is.. like i said i just got the car and the previous owner only had it for 2 months and he didnt do the mods the original owner did

Those mods would still not beat an EVO. You need at least stage 2. Do you have a re-flashed ECU? CHIP?

A regular lancer? It had to have been an EVO 8. You would have passed a regular lancer by mid 2nd gear.

You shifted from 5th down to 3rd on the highway and floored it? No wonder you have a jacked up tranny.

And if you're running 15+ boost and downpipe, etc, you're probably Stage 2, if not at least Stage 1 tuned and you just don't know it maybe... and if you are, you shouldn't need to shift from 5th to 3rd at 70mph damn... most I do is downshift to 4th if I'm already doing 70 on the highway, and I'm only stock tuned right now.

lol You guys critisize before knowing too much.. I mentioned it in another post, the car had tranny problems going into 3rd from 2nd and it makes winding noises before i traded my truck for it. The car had 3 owners...The original, the guy I traded and myself. The original owner did all of the work and the guy who i traded doesnt know what was done to it so I am completely in the blue. All i know is that the tranny has bearing problems so far from checking out the dif case. Its being torn out and checked at by a master mechanic shop foreman next week. So dropin 5th to 3rd isnt really a concern at the moment if its being rebuilt. It might be stage 2 Im not too sure, turbo pushes out 15 to 18 at times. Then again the retard who first owned it went cheap on guages so I am reading off of a glowshift pod O_o

my friend swapped a complete jdm evo3 from japan in a huge crate and did a lhd conversion on his mirage. thats the only old evo i know in brooklyn.. or nyc in general.

it was diff. not an evo i dont think you could have pulled him that easy. but it was prob. a 2003 lancer ralliart, they have a very similar body kit. yet they only bang out 170 HP so that sounds about right for the pull you had.
