Ralliart has the MR Trans, 10 more HP than the WRX, stock, and I like the TwinClutch. I have one on the lot right now and have taken it out 3 times, definitely a huge difference between EVOX and RalliArt. The suspension is a little different but I think anyone who bought one would be tweaking that anyways. I took a new WRX out nad the RalliArt on the same day, and I think the Ralliart is a little more refined, more like a daily driver with some perks and less like a watered-down racecar. and on looks alone, I like the face of the RalliArt/Evo better than the new WRX/STi... It's not a Trim package anymore, it's the first model year, and I'm sure new and interesting develpoements will ensue. It's generated a lot of attention.

Yep, I wasn't meaning to say that the Ralliart is worthless; I'm sure there is a clientele for it, and that it's a very nice car. Just not in the same league as an Evo in terms of pure performance.

Comparing 2009 models, the Ralliart is almost 30 horsepower less than the plain WRX. The WRX also starts a couple thousand cheaper.

I guess it's a fine car right up till you're out of college. Then you realize how nice of a used car you could have gotten for the same $26-27k.

    No.

The WRX has almost 30 HP more than the Mitsubishi, stock.

    +1

Carefully vetted used cars ftw. New Lancer Ralliart, OR (Used STI || Used M3 || Used 911). Hmmm, let me think about it...

Subaru says:Horsepower - 224hp on the WRX. Mitsubishi says : 237 HP on the RalliArt. So not sure where you got your numbers. I sell them both. I've driven them both. I am in no way saying the Mitsu is better.... I'm just presenting Facts, and s far as a used STi in the same price range that's gently used, Try finding one. IMPOSSIBLE. People love those cars and hold onto them. Which is great but finding one that's decent and competitively priced in the Mid-Atlantic region is like trying to find a needle in a haystack. I've looked for 6 months and haven't found anything that sparked a serious interest in the same price range.

2009 WRX's put out 265hp. The Impreza GT (basically last year's WRX) makes 224hp. That dealer's site is wrong.

Edit: Added an actual Subaru link to confirm.

I think maybe you're stuck in 2008 with your WRX "facts"? You might want to look into it before dealing with prospective customers for the car. The '09 car is a completely different animal, performance-wise, from the '08.

Subaru say 265 HP for the WRX. They're now using different outputs for specific gearboxes, as Mitsubishi have done with their turbo motors and gearboxes in the past -- with the manual getting a higher output motor.

Thanks for the info, guys. I apologize about having some shotty sources. Still saying don't knock the RalliArt, I think it's in the same playing field as the WRX, and it's pretty.

No worries. Apparently the Ralliart has a folding rear seat and uses an aluminium hood - both nice touches.

IMO, it will never be in the same playing field until you can get it with a true manual trans. You can put auto stick, or F-1 style paddle shifters on it all you want, but its not the same!! You will never be able to get the same driving experience no matter how much power it has, or how well it handles. Trust me, I learned that lesson the hard way.

Obviously preference plays a role in it, but for what it's worth, I agree. You can't get the Ralliart with a true manual at all? Dealbreaker for me, on an otherwise pretty nice car.

Nope, gotta jump over to the non-MR EvoX for a good ol 5 speed manual.
