    wrx[evo316g] vs cobalt ss?

    I was cruising around when one guy in a red cobalt ss told me to pull over and wanted to take a look at my car, after a lilttle talk he wanted to run me. so we did

    45roll -with out break boostin, almost full tank, and a passanger
    i jump on him about a fender then he pulled on me about a 1/2 a car.

    2nd run I break boosted and jumped on him again and we hit 4th
    i barely got him by not even a fender almost a tie.

    my question is he said he had 60lbs injectorst, bigger fmic, 2.8 pulley, injen intake, hks exhaust with headers, and a mail over tune, ya guys think hes honest because i really tauth i would walk him.

    Did you actually see his setup? If not he coulda been yanking your chain, but i'm not all that wise on who shoulda won or shouldn't have won... but I know when doing spirited runs, never trust the other guys word...

    From what I've read on here so far I'm surprised you didn't pull on him hard with the EvoIII 16g.

    Who tuned your car ? Sounds like a tune issue.

    i got it tuned at automotion at louisville, ky first time i had got my car back my air flow was way off so i had to take it back and i guess he fixed it because runs alot better now. But maybe my airflow is off now again

    he raced you from a roll for a reason. get him from a dig and see what happens. still should be a close race but you should have him.

    He pulled me by a half car and stayed that way.
    Suposed 300hp tune, P/P supercharger, intake, tune, full exhaust, smaller pulley, running 17psi.

    Do you have ALL the supporting mods done?

    E3's can easily run 19psi even 20. Cobalt will not stand a chance. I have seen them tuned at 330whp on a mustang dyno... at 19-20psi on a 2.5L. Mildly tuned.

    I just had mine done (PnPnC) and waiting to install it myself and expect NO less than 340 to the wheels.

    Give me a month and a half and I will post my #'s and all that garbage.

    im only running 17psi now my tuner said i should push it over that but i know that turbo can easily handle 24psi, im prolly going to get at tune at 20psi

    Bet a bigger fuel pump and a new inlet hose would help w/the tune in my opinion. Suprised your injectors aren't done yet (are they)?

    I bet your not making what your setup should.

    But if that isnt the case, there is a decent aftermarket for our cobalts...

    Some of the SS?SC guys have some aftermarket SC options like TVS that can put them over 300whp

    The LNF guys can put similar numbers on stock turbo

    A bigger FMIC on an S/C Cobalt? That makes no sense a bigger FMIC would first require a smaller one, S/C Cobalts don't have a FMIC. Perhaps he meant he put a Cobra HE on it, or a dual pass plate?
