2004 STi VS 2000 Camaro SS??

Hey guys just got protuned to stage 2. Here is my dyno chart. Im goin to the track soon and i will be racing and i know i can get him from a drag race but can i beat him from a roll? say from 20? or 40? In a safe and controlled enviorment ofcourse.

The car feels better but i thought i was goin to be holding more boost at redine and peaking more too. But at least i know the tune is safe and reliable.

    Anything done to the SS?

If it's stock he'll probably take you from a 40+ roll. IIRC those motors were underrated slightly. Also you might want to think about short shifting it to stay in your power band. You're not making much power from 6.5k-7.5k. There is no point in revving it past 7k with the stock turbo. Look at the torque loss...

    Congrats on the protune though!

99' Rs. 04 wrx drivetrain swap. At the time I had a cobb short ram, 3" downpipe, sti midpipe, and a blitz nur spec muffler with a cobb ots stage 2 map. I could slowly but surely pull on my buddies 01' SS. I didn't walk him or anything but my rear bumper was at his front bumper by the time we shut down around 100 or so and I was still slowly pulling. I'm not making nearly enough power as the thread starter. I do weight 2800 lbs though. But I think he has enough added power to make that up. It would be close.

Ya your weight advantage helps you out a bit. My car weighs about 500 lbs more than yours maybe 400 since its an 04. But i got a little bit more power than you. I will hopefully get the race recorded and i can mark a win for the subie!

Has anybody else had a run in with a Camaro SS or a WS6?

I have raced one and won from a dig but I really don't consider it a win because it was against a punk kid who just roasted the tires on launch. I really just wanted to see if I could beat an SS.

edit: I was stage 2 on an 1/8th mile track.

You will be extremely rich and have nothing to gain from it and there is a chance you could hurt your motor. If you had a map tuned to run race fuel it might be worth it.

Your tuner didn't get you a race map ? Bet you he forgot... That or $11 a gallon wasn't included..... As him. Normally, they will include a seperate map for this.

He won't be THAT rich. And at the track its common for people do dump in a little race fuel (usual unleaded) as added detonation protection.

And how exactly do you think it could hurt his motor? It would catalytic converters and oxygen sensors.....but for one run with just a couple of gallons of leaded fuel mixed with normal i highly doubt anything would be affected.
