I may have exaggerated a bit. But running 110 octane on a 91 map wouldn't really see any improvement in power (unless hes knocking).

My tuner asked me about a race fuel map, I told him I didn't need it. Around here E85 is readily available at the pump and doesn't cost $10+ per gallon.

    WS6 Run

I had a run against a WS6 in 06 in a bone stock STI. There was no contest. I kept pulling and pulling, by the time we stopped (it was a a public road) I had about 8-10 lengths on him. It may have been driver error on him, but it was still no contest.

it was a v6 or the guy wasn't trying. you'll be lucky to pull anything after 40mph on a ls1 car.

Just because it has that awesome ram air hood doesnt mean it's a ls motor.

i dont know what they put down stock but i know they are definately underrated andt hey produce some seriouse horsepower.

Like i said my goald is to br albe to take out my buddy in his camaro ss. Im pretty sure its goin to require me getting a 20G turbo or a GT30R LOl but one day i will gethim.

WS6 are AWSOME drag race cars and are a huge benchmarke as far as racing cars from a roll!!!

WS6 is actually an option package, not an engine; sort of analogous to the Camaro's SS package. An '02 would have an LS1, as has been stated.

The LSX Camaros and Firebirds were straight-line monsters with a lot left on the table for modification. A stock STI "pulling and pulling" on one means that he wasn't on the gas...

<<<< has a video of himself racing a late model Camaro SS at the dragstrip.... look at my signature.

Camaro SS's and WS-6 Trans Ams were HIGHLY underrated..... GM was lying their asses off to sell cars. If you read old Motor Trend Magazines and such... they were rated at 300hp from the factory.... but in actuality, they were putting out around 250-260.

Mustang GTs of the same timeframe were even worse.

My setup is equivilent to a Stage 2 STI... Nice, but nothing "extreme" I don't think.

But by comparison.... you'd think my car was radical..... because I literally handed this Camaro SS owner his own ass on a platter. I had him by 5 or 6 car lengths by the time he barely started moving.... pathetic

Pardon the poor video quality.... The cameraman was my 10 year old daughter.

99' Rs. 04 wrx drivetrain swap. At the time I had a cobb short ram, 3" downpipe, sti midpipe, and a blitz nur spec muffler with a cobb ots stage 2 map. I could slowly but surely pull on my buddies 01' SS. I didn't walk him or anything but my rear bumper was at his front bumper by the time we shut down around 100 or so and I was still slowly pulling. I'm not making nearly enough power as the thread starter. I do weight 2800 lbs though. But I think he has enough added power to make that up. It would be close.

Ya your weight advantage helps you out a bit. My car weighs about 500 lbs more than yours maybe 400 since its an 04. But i got a little bit more power than you. I will hopefully get the race recorded and i can mark a win for the subie!

Has anybody else had a run in with a Camaro SS or a WS6?
those wheels are sick sick SICK! i love it!

    Uhhh... you mean OVERated ?

Also, if you pull 8-10 lengths on a SS or TA/Firehawk..... they probably can't get the power to the ground. MTL.
