New best time

1.908 60' on to a 13.976 @ 94.75mph. I'm very excited about this since the car, 03 WRX, is making about stock power. This is the second time it went to the track. First time I ran 15.4 @ 94 mph. After learning how to drive the car better I realize how much of a difference a good launch can make. We have a drag leader board where I work and this 13.976 was good for 4th place out of 15, not bad for 230hp. Because of the incredible 60' time it was 2nd fastest to the 1/8 mile, behind only the Corvette.

That's a great time for a stock '03, congrats. Any mods at all--shifter, etc.?

By the way, welcome to the club. I have owned two Z cars in the past and am a big fan of them. In fact I just strolled by the local dealership today to check out the 370z. I like it, naturally. I like what they did to the shape of the car. Looks a little more like the old 240. The "barbed" lights are ok.

I have some suspension mods, but I don'tthink it would make that much of a difference.
Perrin adjustable rear sway bar, full stiff
lowering springs, not sure what brand or how much

The engine mods are a short ram intake and manual boost controller. Boost runs between 13 and 15 psi. I also have an almost brand new exedy clutch that may have helped.

I also own the 94 camaro and 90 300zx on the list. I didn't give my wrx much respect compared to them until now.

Thanks for the good feedback. In my experience its very hard to get a car to run its advertised times. Usually they are a few tenths slower at the track. It was nice to actually achieve what was theoretically possible.

Now I usually drop clutch at like 4500, and floor the pedal shift at 7000
I understand your supposed to rev it up to the point where your turbo will immediatly kick in

In other words...if you are claiming that time in a stock WRX I'm waving the BS flag.

I've seen some 06-07's in the 13.7ish range.....that's about as low as I've seen on a stock wrx.

I ran the car about 7 times on track , I know I was under 14 the whole time, very sure I ran a 13.2 - Car wasn't 100% stock I had a AEM CAI on it

I was really just trying to help you remember what you actually ran. If you're lying big time, then none of it matters.
Here, I can do that, too:

Yeah, my new Pagani Zonda ran a 8.46 at 190mph at the track. Time slips? Nah, I think I lost those.
