Neon SRT-4 couldnt shake me

This was my first real engagement with another similarly quick car.

545AM on my way to work, 2 lane road. I am approaching a red light maybe 3 blocks up.
I saw a black car with non OEM HID's (maybe 8K color). Clean black SRT-4. Light turns green with me still approaching. I called up 2nd gear anticipating him to nail it.

SRT driver gooses it a second before me (with me starting 3 cars back).
My balt briskly walked right up to his rear bumper, i didnt even NLS third gear. I shut it down mid way through 3rd, SRT driver kept going, but its deer rut season around here, and on a 2 lane road. (triple digits + 6 point buck = no thanks)

We came up to another light and he launches pretty well, but I again cant leave at the same time or id rear end him. Top of second im on him already. I quit at speed limit, made my point already

He had to have been pretty stock, His exhuast was not sooty, and he didnt smell catless. I still love those neons. I recieved a few beatings from SRT-4's while i had my stage 2 WRX (2003) so it being able to pull him definetly made me smile.

yep the new t-ss's are no joke. chevy got it right on the 2nd try. oh and NLS (or wot shifting in srt4 world) is awesome. you should look into a "wot box"

Clubwrx is made up of a ton of members. Some do not currently own a Subaru. Some have never owned a Subaru. Owning a Subaru or not doesnt limit your ability to join or post.

Thinking that anything American made is crap is just silly.

None the less...."flaming" will not be tolerated. Warning.

Some of the guys on here had Subies previously. It's nice to read of others stories on here without having to stalk around on the other forums.

We welcome auto enthusiast here. Regardless of what kind of car they have or had. Some here have never owned a Subaru. Get over it and stop being rude or don't post here.

Sure maybe the OP once owned a wrx or is a contributing member to the site. I could really care less if every man woman and child with pedal bike joined this site and asked questions regarding the wrx or another Subaru for that matter.

However I see these types of posts as spam and it annoys me. Which is one of the multitude of reasons I rarely frequent this site.

If I wasn't being warned for flaming as it seems I was lumped in with the person who posted below me I would like to be separated from the poster who obviously flaming.

Your original post was somewhat rude and implied that the OP was not even welcome to post anything about their vehicle on our site. Again, we welcome auto enthusiasts regardless of what they have/drive. We DON'T consider the OPs post "spam". Get over it or perhaps you should frequent our site even LESS often.

the ss is a nice car. i only know of 2 around me one is completley stock and the other has a pulley upgrade. not a bad car at all.

Love that new ecotech turbo, got to drive it in an HHR-SS. If chevy only stuck it in a 4 door wrx sized, splendidly styled, German-esque interior'd, RWD platform, they would have me. Especially since the little bugger gets great MPG.
