    Raced a friendly 2008 BMW M5

The title says it all, guys and girls. I was on my way home from the movies with my buddy. We where cruising down 611 South in Bucks County,PA. We pulled up to the traffic light of 611 and Bristol Road and suddenly from behind these nice fancy lights come up and pull up next to me. From what I could see it was a 2008 BMW Black Sedan, with black tinted windows. It started creeping on me as we were a few feet from the line, so I decided what the heck.

Side Note: I had a ton of work put into my car several months back and haven't really driven it since, other then the break in 1000 miles on the Turbo and Clutch. So I had no clue what my Subie was capable of until tonight. I went from Stage 2 to the 18g Setup with Supporting Modifications.

So Anways back to the story, the light turns green and i slip the clutch, hook perfectly and I am off. I am about 1/2 a car length ahead of him in first, then shift into second very fast, and he is at my bumper. Then into third and I am still pulling, he is about 5 feet off my bumper. Anyways I shifted into 4th and as i was at the top of 4th about 100 yards up I see a copy pull slowly out onto the two lane road. So to be safe i hit the breaks, downshift and just relax. The BMW saw the cop and did the same thing.

At the next traffic light, the BMW pulls up next to me again, rolls down the window and we share a laugh. He then pulled off to the side and we where discussing how we got super super lucky. The best part of our conversation was when he said " There is no way your WRX is stock, that thing pulls like a monster." I then realized after seeing more of his car it was a 30 year old guy driving a 2008 BMW M5! I then explained to him how my WRX is my weekend toy and all the work I had done to it. We shared a few more laughs and he was on his way. Here are the two lineups if your interested to see boys and girls.

    My Setup:
    2004 Subaru WRX
    42,600 Miles
    5 Speed
    Deadbolt Zilla 18g Turbo
    Power Enterprise 650cc Injectors
    Walbro 255 Fuel Pump
Greddy RS Recirculating Blow Off Valve
    Exedy Stage1 Clutch
    NGK Iridium Spark Plugs
    Invidia Up-Pipe
    Invidia Down-Pipe (Catless)
    Invidia G200 Exhaust
    SPT Short Ram Intake
    STI Top Mount Intercooler
    Perrin Hose Kit
    Cobb Light Main Pulley
    SPT Turbo Heat Shield
    SPT Air Intake Head Shield
Cobb Accessport V2.0 - With a Professional Tune
Dynoed at 310 Wheel HorsePower at 294 Pounds of Torque @ 22 PSI.

The 2008 BMW M5 Stock Specs:
    5-liter 10-cylinder
    500 horsepower @ 383 ft-lb of torque
Accelerating from zero to 60 mph in 4.4 seconds

In the end I am very proud of my WRX, I hadn't had a chance to match it up against anything yet. So for my first race with all my work done to it, I am very pleased. A soild win for the WRX once again.

Did he have it in M mode with 500 HP or regular mode with only 400 HP?

    Nice kill regardless.

I didn't actually ask him, great question. I would assume he had it in M mode. But I won't ever know

Nice off the line pulls . If you were on the highway and you were both starting "fromaroll", he would have murdered you.

Yeah, I agree, I had the power of AWD and the Torque to take him off the line. But I am one of those guys thats a true believer in "from a dig races". So . lol

I am not one to street race, I have too much going for me right now and all, would just be bad if there was any type of issue. But it was a situation I wanted to take advantage of.

I watch alot of the videos on streetfire.net of the WRXs and I see too many getting beat. Wish I had this one on film to contribute to the WRX.
