I was driving at about 10 o'clock tues night in my sti, when a beautiful corvette coupe slowly passed me on the highway at about 75. I think it was an 04. It was an older gentleman with a big smile on his face! I downshifted and we took off (their was nobody else around). I just thought it was pretty funny to see this older guy smiling wanting to run against me! Definately dont see it that much. probably a really cool guy to talk cars with. ended with us being dead even.

The only problem with racing old guys in Corvettes is that they're the ones who can afford the massive mods. If they have the desire, they'll have the horsepower, even if that means the grandkids inherit less
There are plenty who are content with cruising around in a stock car just enjoying the ride. The ones who have craved horsepower since the 50s know how to make it happen today.

Then you have those old ****ers with the 08/09 base models which are ~400whp

TONS, I can actually stand driving the damn thing. I got 30.4 MPG on my way to PA with it a few months back(469 mi) and 31.1 on the way back(non ethanol blended gas).
My ONLY gripe is something you warned me about, the big ****ing doors. . Other than that I love the car. Still bone stock but will probably bolt on it up to ~450whp next year. . . May go with a cam, but we'll see.
