I have owned both cars, and the WRX would get dusted in both situations.

If it was dead even from a roll someone can't drive or wasn't trying.

The MS3 would spin from a launch but reel in the WRX like it was standing still in 3rd gear, by the end of 4th you are talking bus lengths.

100lbs= +.1 in the quarter mile. Unless the passenger was huge, no way would the WRX get "walked"

Against a Stage 2 WRX? How? The WRX will have about 30hp more than the Mazda with a bit more drivetrain loss. If anything it's probably a drivers race in a quarter mile. A well driven Stage 2 WRX can run bottom 13's while I'm pretty sure the MS3 is upper 13's stock. 4th gear does suck in the WRX 5 speed, so I can see the Mazda fairing well in that high of speed race...but who in their right might would race on the street at such a high speed?

yea i agree i dont see the stg 2 wrx getting walked. the 1/4 time and trap speed tells everything. its definitely a driver's depending on how good the suby launches out the hole and quickly the MS3 can gain traction out of 1st and 2nd.

this reminds me of the old stage2 wrx vs srt-4 debate. In the end, the srt-4 (or in this case the ms3) is always teh fastar, end of story.

And who said anything about a drag race in the 1/4 mile? The OP said it was a race from a roll. No launch.

Plus I don't see how an 02 wrx, even at stage 2 would have 30 more crank hp than a lightly modded MS3. stage2 2.0L wrx's dyno anywhere from 200whp-230 whp depending on the dyno. Do the math, that doesn't equate to 30 hp more at the crank than a lightly modded MS3 that at stock has 263 hp.
