06 wrx vs. Mustang 4.6

or maybe its a 4.7L idk.
Does anyone know how these size up. pretty much both stock.
in like a drag race type of thing?

Yes it is a 4.6, and in a striaght line if both are stock then I think the mustang would win

compared to the wrx 230
but do you think in like an 1/8 mile the mustang would still take it

oh I was thinking the new 300hp mustang and on quater mile terms.

Now I'm not so sure though I'd think it'd definitly be close. I guess there's really only one way to find out. race

I think the stock WRX should be able to take the V6 Mustang in the 1/8 mile. The WRX should have the advantage in weight and 60ft times.

the 4.6 is a v8

The 4.6 is definitely not the V6. The stock V8 Mustang GT runs the 1/4 mile in 13.8. Stock '06 WRX runs 14.2 (at best, cause I've ran mine about 10 times and can't get it under 14.8). That leaves only a 0.4 of a sec difference, but since the WRX is AWD, it is alot easier to launch.......if the Mus-take, I mean Mustang had any wheel spin, it would be very very close.

Agreed, but the V8 is 300bhp, not 260, as posted earlier by OP. Thought OP meant the newer cars and V6 (but that is supposed to be rated at 210bhp)...

Def need more info. Year, tranny, model(gt,mach1, roush, cobra, saleen, etc.), convertible or hardtop, mods?

I say stock 99-04GT < 06WRX 05+GT> 06WRX

Ford has been putting 4.6L V8's in Mustangs since 96. There were a few different horsepower ratings along the way.

We need to know the year of the car he's benchracing...or at least which generation.

From a roll, I was able to beat a '96 cobra convertable by 2 car lengths a couple weeks ago. He was peeved.

But I'm stage 2, so that probably helped quite a bit. It was fun though.

Depending on year and driver you chances are about 50/50
Every morning on my way to work I run into a 98 cobra, we usually mess around light to light with a 50 mph speed limit. I take him nearly every time, but then again I am stage 2
