I don't know...the tuner said my car would be close to an STI with bolts on. Maybe close to a stage 2 STI? Not sure. He did say a stock 02 wrx puts down around 170whp.

I guess that stock TMIC is really holding you back. I've made runs against Cobb Stage 2 STI's and been door-to-door with them. That's on a vf34 @ 20psi with a STI TMIC, and all the normal breathing mods you'd expect on a catless car.

Beating the 400-450whp Viper was a neat trick.
It was an old viper. I saw him again on 8mile the other day. When I get a chance, I'll rematch him. Maybe ask him to go to the track or Illegal racing location in Detroit(French Rd).I'll have to ask him what year and mods his viper is. I'll get back to everyone another time on this item. I do want a rematch...remember, he gave up by the beginning of 3rd.Beating the 400-450whp Viper was a neat trick.

Would you mind defining "really fast"?
When speaking of WRX/STI in a comparison against other cars, I think a Corvette would count as "really fast" for a stock vehicle. Those Viper numbers you reference above are in the same range as the current Corvette numbers.

This is the Detroit, MI area...we have 12 & 11 sec here all the time. We have lots of Mustang 5.0 doing 10sec, etc. I consider a car fast when it can do 11sec or less. 12 is too simple... I saw that 08 corvette the day it came here at the Detroit Auto show before it hit the dealer lot. Fast cars are all it's about in the Detroit. Detroit has all the OLD and NEW cars. People race on 8 mile day in and day out... Just yesterday...around 3:00am, I heard a race...damn loud. People die/crash all the time in Detroit from races on French rd...you just don't know about them...Detroit is keeping it low...It's hard keeping control of yourself...During the spring...in front of a POLICE station, this mid 40's guy driving a huge and loud Nova(I'm talking drags, chrome everything, his car is making my car vibrate too.) stops at the light with me...He wanted to race......talk about insane...Only in Detroit...2008 Chevrolet Corvette - Road Test/2008 New Car Reviews/Car Shopping/Hot Lists/Reviews/Car and Driver - Car And Driver
