I really SHOULD have beaten my DSM. Idle control screw out. Then the ECU capacitors leaked. Then I burnt an exhaust valve. Then the exhaust manifold studs insisted on backing out. Repeatedly. And again. Then the balance shaft pulley seized and failed. I replaced it with a delete kit after getting all the shrapnel out and swapping oil pumps. The system was apparently licensed to Porsche -- proving that there are morons working at Porsche also. I wonder how the 944 guys liked the idea.

I should have beaten the DSM with a tree branch in the middle of the street.

Those were the nicest of the lot IMO. Nicer styling.

In any case, it's faster than my WRX - or at least it was until his transfer case went BANG!
Mine had the leak just like everyone else's. To their credit, and maybe because of the then current takeover by Daimler, a local Chrysler dealer fixed it for free, under the recall, on a third-owner car with no papers and a ten years of use on it. Nice touch, Subaru could learn from that. The car itself is a fiasco though. Leave DSMers alone, they're in pain.
