Sorry, I should've made it more clear that this question really wasn't directed toward "winning" a race as much as how the two cars compare performance wise.. I already looked up some specs but just tryin to get the general opinion

OK well my opinion is that the Camry is the better car, at least compared to the 07 Impreza. The 08 now has a more intelligent body design with the 5-door hatch, but the Camry has always been very roomy and much more refined. I've not driven an 08 yet but I'll say that if they drive as well as a Camry, Subaru's got a terrific car on their hands.Sorry, I should've made it more clear that this question really wasn't directed toward "winning" a race as much as how the two cars compare performance wise.. As far as performance, there's nothing to discuss. Speed is quantifiable, it can -- and should, if you're interested -- be measured. It's build quality, refinement, and the overall experience that are open to discussion, as these vary with each person't impressions. Until early 08 the Camry was well ahead of the Impreza. Now, we'll see. I'm hoping Subaru have made improvements and that seems to be what people are saying.

However, the V6 Camry would keep up the rex from a dig and walk it pretty hard on the highway.
