My stock 04 STi vs chipped/catback 05 Audi TT won by 2 cars up to 55 from a dig. I'm sure a stock 06/07/08 wrx could do that as well...the TT's really aren't that quick.

As for the SRT-4, I would TOTALLY believe that a stock-ish WRX would beat one in a straight line race if the driver not only spun in 1st but also shifted like a retard. Considering the demographic of SRT-4 owners, I would say both are highly likely.

This is pretty hard to believe unless the srt-4's front wheels were made of spaghetti

But chances are you'll beat him in the long-run (aka he'll breakdown before you).

all i can say is you got lucky... were the race from a dead stop and less than 1/4mile you would have him, but pretty much once you pass 55mph, or take away the WRX's advantage (AWD from a stop = less tire spin) the WRX is no better than a N/A FWD car.. i used to play with WRX's on the higway with my SVT-f, I could drop into 3rd and just walk away, but from a dig I had no chance in hell...
