could a Srt-4 hold its own against a stg.2 WRX??

A stage 2 WRX would easily hold it's own against a stock SRT4.
I raced one at the local track when I was stage 2 & we were pretty much even. However, my 60' was 2.2, so take it for what it's worth. As far as the trannies go, both cars will grenade if abused, stock or modified.

the only otha thing that can compete with an srt-4 is light. Light is one fast motha.

So your stage 2 Rex was no faster than a stock srt-4...?

I am assuming we are all talking about a 2.5 liter stage 2 WRX?

I had a 2.0 stage 2 and I think that it would have lost to a stock SRT on the top end

i have not lost to an SRT-4 at the drag strip, yet.

I run 1.8 60' on street tires and i haven't seen an SRT-4 get under 2, ever.

Even in the 1/8th mile, the SRT-4 is waaaaaay slower.

Its when you get past the 1/8th mile that you have to worry about them.

From anything other than a dead stop, they pretty much have me beat OTOH.

a wrx will find way more weak points in its own drive line long before an srt on big slicks will. you can tear up a wrx trans in stock form. the srt stock clutch is good for 300ishwhp, axles 400+ and trans/diff 500+.

help me out here guys but 350whp+ in a rex is at least a 18g with full bolt ons and protune. and 450 range will at least take a 20g most likely a fpgreen or red. but before then you'll need different gear set for the trans and much more.

they only problem with 350whp is traction the car holds the power very well but getting it to the ground is hard

Hence, you mod either you'll find their weak points. never said it wouldn't but i didn't mod mine much but anyone else would have blown theirs treating it like i did. 5-6k rpm clutch drops, offroading, get mad and not need the clutch for that 1-2 shift.... i knew how to launch it but i beat it because it was mean't to beat. there is a guy who used to get on here that went by Quack or QuackVF34. his 04 wagon had an 18g with all the cobb tuning stuff he needed making over 300whp on a mustang dyno. stock block/tranny.i would say if he still has it its got over 130k miles. last i heard he had 119k about 6+ mth ago.

do get your tighty whities in a bunch just because i didn't point out WRX problems, i don't really need to on a WRX/STi forum. we already know our trannys are junk...but i loved mine.
