It's bad enough this is a magazine race from the start....let's try to stay on topic please.

driven both, from a roll you loose anything above 100mph you loose on the 1/4 from a stop it will be close but I would still put money on the 350 if he can drive.
You will lose. You could take a stock 350z no problem. The main thing he has on you is suspension (and FI if he has it before the race). You would be surprised to see how suspension alone affects your et's.

+1
I own a stock 350Z and a modded WRX. Around stage 2, the WRX felt close to the 350Z down low, but still lacking up high. The AWD really put a hurt on drivetrain losses. The 350Z has a carbon fiber driveshaft and LSD(unless it's a base, then no LSD), and makes a solid amount of torque down low compared to the wait for spool on the WRX. Though I personally prefer the slingshot nature of a turbocharged car in regards to torque delivery, there is certainly something to be said for a more linear NA torque curve.
As my cars sit currently, the WRX is faster by a longshot. The 350Z gets better gas mileage though (22mpg avg WRX - 24mpg avg 350Z).
Oh, and my friend Frank has an SRT4 - with a few mods and a tune they can be nasty from a roll. I would have bought one if I didn't think they look like Skittles, plus the FWD torque steer scares me.
