Hey fellas, i ended up purchasing the 2005 6 speed v6 accord, and i must say it hauls ass.
i just have a couple of questions: ive raced my friends 2006 civic si on a closed course, and i beat him by several cars (3, 4) and i wasjust wondering how wrx's keep up with si's, and bench racing is welcome in this post.
im curious baout racing my friends 2007 wrx, and i personally think that i would take him with my accord from a roll. let me know ur opinions fellow subaru owners.
this forum ROCKS![]()
i see i see, i think so too. how about an sti?
If my research is correct You should have about 244 HP, and a curb weight of 3120. Thats pretty darn close to a 2007 WRX, so I change my statement to it being a drivers race for the WRX, and you would lose to an STI on paper. I was thinking the newer accords which are something to be reckoned with from a roll. Of course someone with real world experince could step in and tell me im wrong.
well the thing is it beats an s2k from a roll. and trhe new accord do about same quarter mile time as 2005.
and how does the wrx do against the new si
Don't race from a dead stop, you'll get owned. Frumaroll *shrug* depends on a ton of things including temperature outside.
You wanna challenge race an SRT4

a guy I know has an 05 V6 6spd Accord..
I had my '91 Isuzu Impulse RS 1.6L dohc Intercooled Turbo AWD..
With only a few mods, and a completely stock ECU, I demolished him on more than one occasion. And don't pull the weight card. The '91 RS AWD is a slender 3400 lbs
mods were: 60trim T3, log-style manifold, Audi EWG, 3" exhaust, hot-air intake, fmic. Bone stock was 160hp.. modded was a tad over 300..
The accords have gobs of torque. the civics do NOT. that's prolly why you murder your friend's SI. honda power example: my old turbo GSR-powered civic hatch: 10spi, 309whp. 242Tq..
The gold integra fully built GSR turbo in the driveway: 430whp, 287Tq. BUT, both are high-10-low 11 second cars, when you factor in the weight.
As for the '05 Accord V6:
Horsepower : 240 hp @ 6250 rpm (chp)
Torque : 212 lb-ft @ 5000 rpm (chp)
Redline : 6750 rpm
Top speed : 130 mph(electronically limited)
0-60 mph : 6.7 sec.
0-¼ mile : 15.0 sec @ 95.9 mph
Curb Weight : 3349-3415 lbs.
Where I grew up, 15s weren't all that fast. I'm not trying to e-fight, just stating that although they are quite quick for what they are, they are still a fwd semi-luxury/semi-sporty family sedan, in need of a serious diet.
If the v6 could truly rev (beyond 6200) and be worthwhile up there, without running out of breath, they'd definitely be a force to be reckoned with.

iono wher eu get ur info from but thats the auto accord bro... a 6speed accord does 1/4 in 14.5 seconds and 0-60 in 5.9
and the redline is at 7200 on the manual ones. the manual and auto accorfd and truly a HUGE DIF. please reply!
Those are automatic accord numbers... BIG difference in performance.
The 6spd has a higher redline and regularly runs mid 14's @ 100mph or so.
To answer the OP's question, from a roll you should work him pretty well.
From a dig I would have to give it to the wrx, unless you guys plan on reaching speeds over 100mph in which case the accord might catch up and make it a drivers race.

yes indeed. thanks. how about the sti? form lets say a 40 roll
i see. by a lot? and how do the 07 wrx match with the 07 civic sis from a roll? lets say a 25 roll
Ok, fine. I'll give you that. but the numbers you mention ^^^ are the same as the 2008 Accord v6 6spd, so I guess accord has gained no ground in 3 yrs.
As for you vs. civic Si (we'll say, 2006).. the big demise of the civic, even with 200hp, is the weak 139 pound-feet at 6,200 rpm, even if the car makes peak power at 7800, and 8000 redline. 139 is worthless for a drag race, even in a car with much less weight than your accord.
Dont get me wrong, I am not knocking your accord, by any means.. But at your stated 14.5, that is still no WRX killer on say, a modest stg2.
The 2006 Civic Si rated performance is 0 to 60 mph "in a respectable 6.8 seconds while the quarter mile needs 15.1 seconds."
6/10ths quicker is your accord. If the Accord does the naught-60 in 5.9, thats a near full second quicker than the Si. But 1/4mi, the Accord is only 6/10ths of a second. So the civic is definitely closing in. a 3/4 mile, and he'd be right with you, possibly sooner.
enter the wrx, we'll say 2006.
Motor Trend rated the '06 WRX at 230 hp @ 5600 rpm, 235 lb-ft @ 3600 rpm.
standing 1/4mi 14.2 sec @ 97.4 mph.
Accord "mid-14s @ ~100mph. (OPs posted numbers)
Civic Si 15.1 @ something (couldn't find the MPH)
WRX TR 14.2 @ 97.4mph. (Motor Trend, 12/05 )
edit: adding this.. 0-60
Accord 5.9
Civic Si 6.8
WRX TR 5.6
/edit
Everyone says my numbers for the accord are for the auto. I know. So produce the numbers for the 6 speed.

2006 STI:
RoadandTrack speed test, 12/05
0-60 5.1
0-100 13.1
1/4 mile 13.6 sec @ 99.6 mph
80-0 216 ft
your accord would be handed it's marbles, by an STI.
as for top end power, my friend's 04 STI with Stg2 does in upwards of 150mph at Summit Point Raceway on the 2900' front straight..![]()
