i have a hard time believe that the new civic si would close in on me at any point in a race.

Well then, obviously, you have a far superior Accord.

Numbers are one thing, drivers are another. The car isn't the only factor in the equation. A semi-fast car and a good driver will usually beat fast car and a fair driver. A fast car and a fast driver will beat a fast car good driver.

there are tons of scenarios to this, with equal number of outcomes.

It's all really relative man.... Driving error, car condition, and such make huge differences.

However, your car is trapping the 99/100 range while the STI traps in the 103-105 range so from a roll I would expect to lose by a few car lengths.

07' WRX vs Civic Si on a 25mph roll will be the wrx winning all the way.

Racing from a roll in your accord mean beating a wrx and losing to an STI.

The '06/'07 WRX just ruins a 197hp civic Si (stock vs stock)

The last '07 Rex that car and driver tested ran 0-60 in 5.3 and 1/4 mile in 14.1 at 98mph. They tested the '08 accord 0-60 5.6sec, 1/4 mile 14.2 @ 102mph. Looks like (given equal drivers), it just matters if you race from a stop or a roll (WRX, Accord). Of course, if the WRX owner spends the few grand in base price difference on stage II+...

It's pretty amazing though, what the accord coupe has turned into!

It's pretty amazing in general what these FWD V6 sedans are doing.

The Accord, Altima, Camry, Maxima, TL all will run at least mid 14's @ 100mph and with using the manual tranny option to move into low 14's @ 100+

So true! Last night I was filling up my gas tank and caught myself staring at the Nissan Altima next to me. He didn't notice me staring at first because he was too busy staring at my car. We both finally managed to say "nice car" to each other. I asked him if he had the six cylinder and he said of course. He said it was making something like 270hp at the crank and that he couldn't be happier with his car (I wish my base rex made 270hp at the crank coming off the lot...not that I have any complaints about my car). He said the best part was that he convinced his wife it was a practical sedan!

Oh yeah, when the convo turned to my car I got the, "The new Imprezas look so good in person. Their pics online definitely didn't do them justice." Which is pretty typical at this point.

Sarcasm guys, sarcasm. Who cares how fast this guy’s Accord is – it is still an Accord. He is all amped up about racing WRX’s and STI’s from different rolling speeds. I don’t even see why people are giving him legit answers.

Why don't you (op) actually race these people instead of just asking how we'll think you'll do. Your Accord sucks.
