    07 WRX vs 05 GLI

My friend just got a GLI - he says that he read in some magazine or online - he couldn't remember the source, that the GLI keeps up with the WRX.

I believe he is quite wrong and the WRX will run at least a half a second faster to 60 that the GLI - is that right

btw I'm a better manual driver - he just got his 1st manual and ive had mine for 8 months or so

Isn't the GLI Volkswagen? If so he already lost that battle.

0-60 isn't as important as 1/4 in my eyes. An awd car maybe smoke another car but then get passed like a freight train after the first 50 meters. Plus they are mostly horribly inaccurate.

Go to a highway setting, run through the gears and be done with it. I don't think anyone here could tell you. Although my vote is for the Rex.

I live my life one quarter mile at a time...and apparently so do you.
0-60 faster then your first sexual experience.

Rex hands down. I laugh at the thought of a V-Dub taking a Dub-RX.

    Lunky clumzy things ...

Someone needs to crosspost this thread to the Vortex.

On second thought, please don't. I'll spend the next 3 days locking threads and banning people.

having lived on both sides of this fence, I'd have to input that from a dig, the WRX would take the Mk4 GLI. ALTHOUGH..... At speed, the GLI would walk off. They have some really nice aerodynamics, and gearing, and 200+hp on a low Cd car... Mmmm..

I can also add, that my old Mk2 '91 GLI 16v 2L was a friggin rocket from 0-100. then I would be getting closer to the end of the tacho.
Even at 65mph, 5th gear, I could roll into the throttle, and prolly accelerate like the 2.0L turbo WRX does. Gearing was key with it, though, as it only had 135hp or so.. But pulled like a damned truck!
