I got a Defi boost gauge in and I have a turboxs CAI and stealthback on the way, with dyno results to follow soon after.

As a stock ms3 benchmark, took a modded evo8 from a 30 roll by 2 lengths all the way to 100, then he passed me. The ms3 falls on its face at 5500, so once that ms3 hit 6th gear there is no doubt the op would have pulled on him.

a stock MS3 will make about 20-25 more ftlbs to the wheels than a vf39 WRX.

just out of curiosity, do you think that it would make a difference that those additional foot pounds are applied to the asphalt via two wheels rather than 4?

It would be faster with 2 once moving, quicker off the line with 4.

What were the mods?

Taking a stock Evo8 by 2 cars would be impressive... but a modded one doesn't sound right. Perhaps you caught him off-gear or something. Just a TBE and reflash pushes them to the 350whp range.

He was behind me at a light, both of us turning left onto a 4 lane open highway. I make the turn and as soon as we both make the turn I punch it to see if he wants to play...he does..he moves one lane over and punches it, I start with like 2 cars on him and maintain-- he slowly pulls and passes me at around 100 on the right. At the very least he had a catback-- had a megan racing decal on his window.

He could have just been messing with me, who knows.

From a launch yes, from a roll, no

My brother just bought a new MS3, so I will soon be posting the results of our duel!

I am sure I can take him up to about 100mph or so, after that he's probably . I went for a ride in it the other day and it didnt feel too nasty fast, but it only had 150 miles on it so we didnt push it too hard.

I went to a mazda meet last year, there were a couple MS3's there - I think any turbo upgrade would be enough to pull on them if they are stock.

Modded I'm not sure what kind of numbers they are putting down. Honestly I don't think the MS3 is a great investment. However this is because I know way too many people who picked up MSP protege's and listened to them whine when the aftermarket didn't respond with much. Hopefully things will go better for the MS3.

CPE is currently developing a hybrid turbocharger upgrade for the SPEED6 capable of safely eclipsing the 300whp mark. The stock turbocharger works well in stock trim, but becomes inadequate once power levels being to increase. It simply cannot flow the amount of air required for better than 300hp, and trying to do so will result in a lot of hot air and/or a wrecked turbocharger.

Though the parameters may change as the project progresses, we would like to retain the stock turbine housing and keep changes to the compressor side. This will allow the turbocharger to be used on stock style exhaust flanges, so no specific manifold or downpipe will be required.
