WRX vs Civic Hatch

he has a 92 civic hatch and it looks like it has an interior reduction. The engine is a H22 with intake and exhaust. My friend wants to know if an stage 2 would win against the civic?

Race him and find out, just make sure you keep the economy map on and stay out of boost.

This is not correct. Stage TWO will get you to 200whp stage one is still 170-185ish area....

Well, it will be close, if he has LSD and has a good launch he'll take em. Especially if its a vx or cx... they are even lighter stripped.... Used thinner body moldings and manual steering rack. Will be close, if your buddy fudges ANY of the launch he will take him.

Stage2 should put a little distance on him from a dig... but from a roll I still don't see the wrx winning. 92' hatch with interior reductions is going to be CRAZY light and driving a motor putting out ~ 190whp.

I like my economic map..last week I got 24mpg of my tank and 90% being city driving. Anyways I don't race.

As said before, civics are pretty quick, when weight reduction is added to the mix they can be quite a rocket.

Just a side note, my friend had a ex coupe M/T with a B18 and I/H/E. Beat him from a 40 roll up to about 100. Mind you he had 17's and a trunk load of audio.

This was with my stage 2 4EAT that put down 203WHP.

On a dyno jet(I think) My catless opensource map put down 237/236 and the cobb stage2 put down 219/220. The cobb stg 2 ran right after me, same everything, both 2.0l.

I say the Hatch wins. I had an h22 swapped 5g accord. those are strong motors. besides a stripped eg hatch would weigh close to 1,000lbs less than a wrx wouldnt it?

Cx or a Vx EG w/ an h22 weighs in at about 2175 minus the driver...

My buddy had one for a couple of years and ran consistent high 13's with 100mph traps. His had full interior btw.

Yea actually more than 1k less than an 04 or newer wrx....

well i had a prelude 4 months ago and they do pull. and they are heavy at that.. so havin the same engine along with the well known vtec in a lightweight hatch is a good set up..i went with a wrx and won ..i had an cai, dc headers and a full exhaust system from invidia..and i have friend with a 96' and overall the engine is just one of the best honda has put out.. i digress but i wouldn't put money up ..

dude a h22 hatch with weight reduction will easily do low 12's with slicks. im talking from personal expirience. if u race from stop u got him thoguh ;-)
