07 WRX stage 2 vs. 06 350Z

me and some friends set up a few races yesterday while the interstate was dead. i agreed to race my friend's 350z from a 40 roll, knowing that i would be at the disadvantage. we lined up at about 42mph and as i was waiting for him to honk he slowed back down, meaning i dropped all 17lbs of boost right before we started. as we took off i checked my AP and i was at 6lbs of vacuum. even with that disadvantage he only got about 1/3 of a car on me and i pulled it back and put a fender on him before we hit 100, which was our stopping point.

I usually run into a guy driving a Z on my way to work every morning. Im not sure what he has done to it but we have played around a couple times red light to red light and that thing is pretty quick and loud as hell. Ive got an 04 stage 2 wrx and I could barely hear mine over his. I am able to hold even with him to about 55 speed limit is 50 so we continue normally to work. I like the exhaust note the Z and G35 put out. Its no boxer rumble though

i raced the 07 350z.and we were pretty much even when i was stg.2 in my 07 wrx. he would start pulling on me on the top end though. the new motors in the 350z are really nice and make that car pull pretty hard stock.

the new ones are pretty quick, race one one night comeing back from somewhere (can't remember) anyways, we did it from a 70 puch he stayed with me till about 90-95 and started falling back. it was bone stock with a temp tag in the back. i was pretty impressed

Yeah, the 07's are pretty nice. Before my protune I couldn't pull on my friend with an 07 6mt

I have an 07 Z as well and I ran my own 07 wrx wagon stg2 with my buddy driving my wrx. It was even but I started pulling hard around 75 mph

Top end?

The VQ Z's trapped 100-101 usually.

The HR Z's (07) traps 104/105 usually.

Both are limited at 155 I believe.

the z in snow=teh garbage

My 07 z came stock with summer tires, and I bought it in omaha nebraska dec 0f 07. Needless to say, unless I get some blizzaks on all four corners and a couple sand bags in the rear, I will not be going anywhere in any amount of now.

I have 2 friends that drive their Z's all winter long in Chicago.

They just throw on Blizzaks and 3 sandbags in the trunk.
I've never ridden with them in snow, but they seem to get around ok. I saw one of them at the gym the other day and he drove through 7" of snow to get there,

Nonetheless, I can't imagine they are good or even remotely "decent" in the snow.
