Apparently not. But then, it's all magazine racing anyway. We need to get some track numbers from some folks that have started beating on their '08s already.

I did watch a special on mototrend and some things that i herd did not make me happy about the new wrx. the new 08 is built on the current legacy platform. subaru did this to save money on production. the wheel base is exactly the same as a legacy sedan. the longer wheel base gives it a smoother ride but looses performance. I was really bummed when they said that. I love the new body style but the performance needs to be the same if not improved instead of looseing performance. It has a 2.5 engine with 224 horse. the sti will have the 2.5 with 295 horse. you can check out the new wrx here http://www.motortrend.com/roadtests/...ru_impreza_wrx and the new sti herehttp://www.motortrend.com/roadtests/hatchbacks/112_0711_2008_subaru_wrx_sti_jdm .

And since it looks more like a Corolla we can call it the Corolla GT.

Both car's are so similar that it would be a drivers race every single time.

However, IF, the drivers were equal I would put my money on a 06/07 WRX just because they have the lowest of the reported mag times, and a couple members have gone high 13's stock with them here.

Not really... i have seen 08's with just a TBE (no tune) put down the more numbers than a stage II 04...the 06's had more go than the 04 (tbe /untuned) but still it would not take a 04 Stg II tuned.

more....or at least that, also a 06-07 has the limited slip differential so IMO its the better car, the 08 hatch scores some points for utility but 06-07 wagons have more power more utility and limited slip goodness,

i would kill myself if someone took my LSD away and replaced it with an electronic nanny.......
