Who ever posted Celica 1/4 mile times forgot to get the best Celica of all, the All Trac.

    1988 Toyota Celica All-Trac 7.7 15.6
    1989 Toyota Celica All-Trac 7.5 15.6
    1990 Toyota Celica All-Trac 7.5 15.7

The All Trac was one of Toyota's rally cars back in the day. AWD, and a 3SGTE turbo 2.0L. I'm a fan of the older Celicas (had an 89 Celica as my 2nd car) and would love to find one of those in good shape.

No doubt the best Celica, but not the fastest. The GT-S is quicker.

yeah those are cool and rare, if you ever look at an engine bay of those 2.0 turbo celicas, i swear you can't get your hand in there to do anything.

Heck, the even the non-turbo versions were lacking on room to work.

Glad someone bumped it. Never knew the GT-S was that good of a car. I always liked the looks personally, but never thought much of it.
One day I'll have a truly awesome sig

The last gen of celicas the difference between a GTS and GT wasn't much (1/4 mile). In the older gens the gap was a little larger but not enough to consider one a slug and the other quick without them really both being slugs.

I owned a 1990 GT-S; my first new car. It was a quality vehicle, and well-balanced in the corners for a FWD car (weighed 2800 lbs), but the 2.2 was not a powerhouse. Something like 130hp, I think. The ST model had a 1.6 liter with even less. The car to own that year was the All-Trac Turbo; AWD with the MR2T engine.

I suppose I joined the ranks of the ricers when I bought that car. The dealer had transplanted the Alltrac's hood onto my GT-S; the one with the vents and scoop. It looked great, and many people thought mine was an Alltrac.

In my own defense, I didn't claim that it was one, or engage in any badge dishonesty.
