oh i know what you are saying micah, like obviously for racing, DSG is far better. i mean look at the GT-R... it shifts in .02 seconds. all i am saying is that it is sooooo much more fun to shift yourself. and lets face it. if you are buying a car like an r32, your buying it as a fun car. if you are looking for a race car there are a lot better options out there.

I guess we all sort out our definitions differently. Regardless of whether or not it has a torque converter, if it doesn't have a clutch pedal I tend to view it as an automatic.

    +1

IMO, the clutch and shift pattern is what makes driving fun and challenging to me.

I'd take a GOOD DSG any day of the week.

IMHO I dont drive a race car....I drive a street car.

IMHO thats the same exact reason I think DSG is a stupid alternative to a stick. DSG is great for shaving seconds off of a lap time but will not make you happy on the way to wall mart, like a stick will....

Glass half full or half empty?

I can see your point through. To me I think it would make driving as equally fun. Plus I'd have a 2nd vehicle that just about anyone else could drive (not as if they would be allowed to).

IMHO in another 2-3 years when they become more mainstream and accepted I'm sure alot of people will change their minds.

Ive driven as a passenger in 3 of them now, a new TT, an R8 and A bentley GT, all cars seemed to be as boring to drive as a porsche tiptronic (which ive done a couple times). Its important to understand that driving a porsche tiptronic is not a horrible experience, but a 6 speed 911 is entirely a different experience.

Anybody who cant drive a stick should have their liscence chopped up and fed to them.

They dident focus on just horse power wich i think they should of a little more with the R32, the R has incretible intearer and handling... About the WRX and STI's being a bit faster, I would just slap a suppercharger on it to change all that...

Is this similar to the infamous "lunchcharger" or perhaps "brunchcharger". Maybe even the "breakfastcharger".

Obviously just slap on a 20g on the STI and it changes it once again.
